Your nose filters the world all day. Here's how to give it a hand.
before you start
Always use distilled water, sterile water, or tap water that's been boiled for 3 to 5 minutes and cooled until lukewarm. Never use untreated tap water.
how to rinse
- Wash your hands and make sure your RhinoRinser is clean.
- Fill the bulb with lukewarm distilled, sterile, or boiled-and-cooled water. If you use a saline rinse mix, add it now and follow the directions on the packet.
- Screw on the cap and attach the tip size that fits you best, small or large.
- Lean forward over the sink with your head tilted slightly down. Thanks to the dip straw, you can stay upright, no sideways head tilt needed.
- Breathe through your mouth. Gently place the tip in one nostril and squeeze slowly. Water will flow out the other nostril.
- Switch sides and repeat.
- Gently blow your nose when you're done.
cleaning
- Take it apart: bulb, dip straw, cap, stem, and tip.
- Wash each part with warm, soapy water.
- Rinse with distilled, sterile, or boiled-and-cooled water.
- Let every part air dry completely before putting it back together.
good to know
RhinoRinser is for personal use, so don't share it. If you have ear problems, have had recent nasal or sinus surgery, or have ongoing sinus issues, check with your doctor before rinsing.
